Doug Smithenry is a visual artist who explores private/public boundaries through his paintings by using images of people taken from the internet. He is represented by Packer Schopf Gallery in Chicago. His work has been reproduced in Harper's Magazine and The Common Review. Having grown up on a dairy farm in South-Central Illinois, Smithenry now resides in Highland Park, Illinois, with his partner, Tim Myers and their daughter Amina.
